چکیده

Flavanones, Catabolites, Peroxidases, Degradation, Substitution Pattern Peroxidases were shown to be responsible for the degradation of flavanones as occuring after application of these substrates to plant cell suspension cultures. — Comparative studies with various flavanones and horseradish peroxidase showed that only 4'-hydroxyflavanones will be catabolized peroxidatically. — Intensive analyses of naringenin (5,7,4'-trihydroxyflavanone) de gradation by horseradish peroxidase revealed that very complex reactions with many catabolites are involved. Main degradative pathways comprise a) hydroxilation in the 3'-position, b) elimina tion of ring B leading to chromones, c) cleavage reactions of the heterocylic ring resulting in phenolic catabolites from ring A and most important d) oxidative destruction of ring A leading to Cg — Cg-, Cs—C2and C6—Cj-units from ring B. — The data are compared with the results of feeding experiments and are discussed with regard to their physiological significance.

Effect of the distal histidine on the peroxidatic activity of monomeric cytoglobin

The reaction of hydrogen peroxide with ferric human cytoglobin and a number of distal histidine variants were studied. The peroxidase activity of the monomeric wildtype protein with an internal disulfide bond, likely to be the form of the protein in vivo, exhibits a high peroxidase-like activity above that of other globins such as myoglobin. Furthermore, the peroxidatic activity of wildtype cyt...

Peroxidatic activity of mycobacteria and relation to catalase.

Winder, Frank G. (Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland). Peroxidatic activity of mycobacteria and relation to catalase. J. Bacteriol. 92:413-417. 1966.-Catalase from Mycobacterium smegmatis was purified about 50-fold. All fractions showed a ratio of peroxidatic activity to catalatic activity approximately the same as that of the crude extract, a ratio only about four times that given by catalase fr...

Ultrastructure of mononuclear phagocytes developing in liquid bone marrow cultures. A study on peroxidatic activity

Monoblasts, promonocytes, and macrophages in in vitro cultures of murine bone marrow were studied ultrastructurally, with special attention to peroxidatic activity. Monoblasts show peroxidatic activity in the rough endoplasmic reticulum and nuclear envelope as well as in the granules. The presence of peroxidatic activity in the Golgi apparatus could not be determined. Promonocytes have peroxida...

Peroxide-Dependent Analyte Conversion by the Heme Prosthetic Group, the Heme Peptide “Microperoxidase-11” and Cytochrome c on Chitosan Capped Gold Nanoparticles Modified Electrodes

In view of the role ascribed to the peroxidatic activity of degradation products of cytochrome c (cyt c) in the processes of apoptosis, we investigate the catalytic potential of heme and of the cyt c derived heme peptide MP-11 to catalyse the cathodic reduction of hydrogen peroxide and to oxidize aromatic compounds. In order to check whether cyt c has an enzymatic activity in the native state w...

Polymer-supported basic ionic liquid as an efficient heterogeneous catalyst system for straightforward synthesis of flavanones

Aromatic aldehydes are efficiently condensed with 2'-hydroxyacetophenone by polymer-supported basic ionic liquid as an excellent heterogeneous catalyst utilizing the Claisen–Schmidt reaction. Microwave irradiation has been employed, providing flavanone in good yield and short reaction time.
